Work Etc. Receives Annual Community Mental Health Award

November 29, 2010 — The Minnesota Association of Community Mental Health Programs, Inc. is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2010 awards. These annual awards spotlight excellence, express our core values, and publicly say “thank you” to those that make substantial contributions to the field. The awards were presented in the presence of over 700 mental health professionals at the association’s Annual Community Mental Health Conference on September 30, 2010 in Duluth, Minnesota.

The award for Inter-Agency Collaboration was presented to Work Etc. This award recognized the partnership between Functional Industries, Central Minnesota Mental Health Center, Wright County Human Services, and Vocational Rehabilitation Services. This partnership enables our organizations to overcome barriers to service delivery and better meet the needs of people with mental illnesses. Work Etc. is a supported employment program which has consistently demonstrated a placement rate of over 50%, with a 71% placement rate in April through June of 2010.

The Minnesota Association of Community Mental Health Programs, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing leadership and services that strengthen member agencies, improve service quality, and foster a unified voice for service providers and clients. The association’s thirty-one members, who employ more than 4,000 professionals, provide a broad array of community-based services to about 130,000 clients each year at over 125 sites statewide.
